Jay has invested most of his working life for his passion - empowering learning throughout organizations. Both business organizations and prominent business schools have gainfully employed his services, nationally and internationally. Overseas he has shared his experience and knowledge with professionals from Saudi Arabia, all over the Middle East including Oman & Qatar, and Sri Lanka amongst a host of other nations. Participants who have benefited from his workshops have been drawn from all levels - senior managers, middle and front-line managers, supervisors, office and factory staff.

Jay launched Empowered Learning Systems in 1992 after a brief stint with Team Productivity Consultants where he began his long journey in Organizational Consultancy.

Jay's passion for enabling learning in Corporate organizations actually began much earlier, during his early working career. From campus Jay joined Rallis India Ltd., a multi-technology, multi-faceted Tata company, as a Management Trainee. After a stint at the corporate office, he moved to an operational human resources assignment at the Rallifan factory, part of the Engineering Division. In 1984, he joined Merck Sharp & Dohme of India Ltd. (later known as Merind Limited), a joint venture of the House of Tata with Merck & Co. Merind has a substantial presence in the pharmaceutical, bulk drugs & diagnostics markets. He was part of the young professional team hand-picked to turn around the company. Within a few years he led the Corporate Human Resources function, becoming a key member of the senior management team, and a close advisor to the Managing Director.

A school education in different parts of India, a graduation from the Madras Christian College (majoring in economics with mathematics and statistics as additional subjects), a post-graduation from the reputed Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, (specializing in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations), and a Law Degree, saw Jay ready to make major contributions to organizations. In 1999, he was one of the chosen few to be selected for the Chevening Gurukul scholarship on Global leadership & Excellence at the prestigious London School of Economics.

Jay is not all about work. In fact he has several other interests that help him relax and unwind. He is as passionate about Cricket having been an ardent sportsman who has represented his school and college in the game and other sports as well. His interests include writing, music and the recently acquired love for riding. And where has all the support and encouragement for his forays into excellence come from but from home, from Sangeetha, his wife and his young children, Rhea and Rohan.
